Born in 1951 in Tottori Prefecture, Japan. Founded Creative Room Ben, an advertising production company, in 1985. In 1993, while working as a graphic designer, illustrator, and brush calligrapher, he founded the Japan Advertising Brush Calligrapher Association, which won the 2002 Japan Industrial Newspaper Advertising Grand Prix and the Dentsu Award. In 2006, he wrote “Utsukushinokuni” for Nippon Ham, and over the next 17 years, as a design calligrapher, he has worked in a variety of genres including TV commercials, logos, poetry, calligraphy, labels, CD-ROMs, books, etc.
In 2022, he was commissioned by the University of Edinburgh, UK, to present an online forum on “Writing Characters” in the field of Japanese language education on a global scale. Advisor to the Japan Design Calligraphy Association.
